The Cairns International Tennis Centre will be home to new operator JBT Academy as of the 1st July 2013.

JBT Academy  – Jarrod Bruce International Tennis Academy – is  a  consortium of local business and sporting identities who have been appointed to manage the Cairns International Tennis Centre.

Jarrod Bruce,  is a successful, well known and recognisable tennis face  in the region, and his wealth of tennis knowledge will provide a major boost to the already established tennis centre. He is joined by Duane Stonham and Mark Wollin, who bring diverse business backgrounds to the team that will deliver a range of tennis programs and competitions at the venue that hosted a round of the Davis Cup in 2010.

Jarrod, Duane and Mark are all  Cairns locals by definition, having grown up and attended school in the region. After extensive travel by all in their chosen career paths, they are excited with their appointment, and are looking forward to opening the doors on 1 July.

Tennis Queensland Head of Tennis, Travis Atkinson is positive about the growth of tennis in Cairns through the new appointment,

“The JBT Academy is sure to make a big impact in Cairns. The academy team brings with it a wealth of tennis playing and coaching experience, as well as a sound business background.

“We look forward to tennis at the world class facility thriving for years to come.”

JBT Academy aims to be  a leading deliverer of the MLC Hot Shots junior program as well as the new high energy workout program  Cardio Tennis. As well, they will be offering an array of consumer friendly fixture competitions and social tennis for people of all ages and abilities. JB Tennis Academy will work closely with Tennis Queensland as they transition into the role, combining efforts to create a welcoming community tennis facility where more people are playing more tennis, more often.
