2013 Gold Coast Seniors May Tournament
was held at Seniors Club at Mermaid Waters from 4 to 6 May. 270 players entered this tournament, usually held on the Labor Day weekend. As it was not a public holiday this year numbers were slightly down but Monday events were still held for those available.

The weekend was perfect weather for a tournament and
Anne-Marie Lawlor of Gold Coast Seniors was the very capable Tournament Director. Brisbane players were well represented in the winners list in many events.

Upcoming Tournaments

Next Seniors tournament will be held at Biloela by the Dawson Callide Valley Seniors Club from 18 to 19 May.
58 entries have been received. They come from Bundaberg, Gladstone, Rockhampton and Sunshine Coast. This is one of the friendliest country tournaments which has been held every year since the first one in 1987 when there were 85 entries. Former President of Tennis Seniors Qld, Don Kerr was instrumental in forming the Seniors Club and arranged for a busload of Brisbane players to attend that first tournament.

2013 Bundaberg Seniors Annual Tennis Tournament will be held at Drinan Park courts and other venues on weekend of 8,9,10th June. Entries are available on the Tennis Seniors Queensland website: www.tennisseniors.org.au/qld under Entry Forms. Closing date is Wednesday 29 May. Alan Searle, President of Bundaberg Seniors will be very happy to see lots more happy faces at his tournament. Go along and support the town after their unfortunate early months of flooding.

ITF Tennis Seniors Qld Championships will be conducted from 28 June to 1 July at Gold Coast Seniors Tennis Club and adjoining Miami Tennis Club and other Centres on Gold Coast.  This is a Category 2 tournament earning ITF World Ranking points. We hope to have many interstate competitors, some of whom have been chosen to represent Australia at the ITF World Teams Championships.  These will be held in Czech Republic and Austria from 9-14 September this year.
