City of Ipswich Mayor Paul Pisasale was on hand today for the announcement of the official men’s and women’s draw in this week’s Pro Tour at the City of Ipswich International.

Australia’s Olivia Rogowska (Vic) will lead the women’s draw as no 1 seed and New Zealand’s Rubin Statham is seeded 1 in the men’s.

Victorian Sally Peers and Queensland’s own Michael Look joined in the day’s proceedings for a first look at their own week’s line up. Both players acknowledged the strong competition they will face, and were equally excited about the prospect of taking on the local and international competition during the week. Peers returns to Ipswich, one of her most successful tournaments, ready for a challenge as the recent weather conditions has meant a late surface change from clay to hard court. She will play 5th seed Luangnam (Tha) in the first round.

Look enters the tournament as 4th seed, the highest seeded Queenslander in the competition and will play fellow Queenslander Scott Puodziunas in the first round.
