Ingham hosted the sixth Osborne Shield, an event for juniors from Ingham Tennis Association, Western Suburbs Tennis Club (Townsville) and Charter Towers Tennis Club, on Sunday, 21st October.  The 47 juniors enjoyed eight matches for the day, facing off against juniors of similar standards.

Ingham Coach Steve Merker said,”It is the last club competitive match for the year and is aimed more at emerging juniors, as opposed to the top juniors.  It is all about meeting new kids from around the ridges, growing friendships and enjoying tennis.”

The Osborne Shield, named after retired tennis coach Clint Osborne from Townsville, symbolizes all things good about club interaction.  Congratulations to Western Suburbs Tennis Club for taking home the shield in 2012.
