The new Brisbane International Trophy Tour commenced with a bang in the South Region. Last week Community Tennis Officer Travis Dragojlo, along with tennis legend Mal Anderson, National Academy Coach Rob Smeets and Academy players Andrew McLeod and Mark Richards embarked on a journey around the Region showcasing the trophies as well as some great tennis along the way.

This is an initiative Tennis Queensland has taken to try and inject a better interest in the sport and attract more players to local clubs. The tour took place at Warwick, Dalby, Chinchilla, Toowoomba and Lockyer. The trophies were on display each afternoon at the club with a clinic being held on the courts.

This was the first time the newly designed trophies have been on display to the general tennis public. The design was well taken to with everyone commenting on the uniqueness of them. The trophies now head up to the Far North Region as they continue their journey to the Brisbane International.
