Toowoomba local Josh Banks took out the Beenleigh Open Mens Singles Title for his maiden AMT victory on the weekend. Banks, who will be heading over to the States next year to commence a new chapter in his tennis career in the challenging College Circuit, said this was his greatest achievement yet. “I’ve been training really hard of late, and it’s so rewarding to bring the title home.” Banks played a flawless last two sets in the final, after being overpowered in the first set by Gold Coast local Louis Ingram, prevailing 2-6 6-3 6-0. Banks then combined with local CTO Travis Dragojlo to take out the Open Mens Doubles crown. Dragojlo also added the Open Mixed Title, making it a clean sweep for the Toowoomba based duo. Banks continues his year this weekend at the Southern Downs Open running on the 15th/16th October. This weekends tournament has a strong Toowoomba based contingent including Arlena Day, Karen Pearce, Chris O’Mara, Mitchell Keogh, Jordan Jones, Simon Hunt, Jake Mengel and Craig Gibbs
