Frankston VIC, Australia, 15 November 2013 | Tennis Australia

The Frankston Firebirds took all before them in the 2012 ATL Vic Conference reaching the Vic final and were agonising close to a berth at the Playoffs , being pipped in the tightest of finals against the formidable Kooyong Classics outfit.

Twelve months on and the Firebirds have an eye to the National Playoffs and going one better. They are on a path of redemption.

The Firebirds will unleash a slightly new look squad in 2013 and again will be very reliant on young gun Nives Baric again taking her game to the highest levels.

Nives is fresh from an outstanding individual year and is a formidable opponent, and will be one of the players to watch throughout the Vic Conference.

The Firebirds squad has an enormous amount of youth with other players such as Michelle Pits, Dani McIntyre and Sasha Bollweg all keen to make statements.

The Firebirds in last year’s ATL Vic Conference thrived on a harmonious team environment and strong supporter base and will leave no stone unturned in the 2013 Vic Conference to go one better and be crowned the Victorian  champions.
