Melbourne VIC, Australia, 7 November 2013 | Tennis Australia

The Magic have found a new home at Higgins Park, proudly sponsored by their local council, the City of Victoria Park. The captain Kyle Mackin and coach Eddy Kong are well known tennis players in WA and hope to lead their team in a successful 2013 ATL season with the support of their new club and council.

Scott Jones is the youngest team member playing in his first ATL team at 15 after making the quarters in the Junior ITF’s in Gosford and NSW. Scott has an Australian Ranking of 174 and was a quarter-finalist in the WA Open (Platinum) in Perth in September. He lost in a tight three set match to Jack Lyttle, fellow National Academy student. Prior to that in the Spring AMT, Scott lost a close final to Dominic Bechard, whom he could meet again in round 3 when the Magic come up against the Cheetahs from Sorrento. With his partner Scott Webster, he then went on to victory in the doubles, earning the title of the “tie-break kings”. These two friends will be conjuring a few tricks on opposite sides of the net on Friday evening as the Magic play the Wizards in an enchanting contest
Other team members who will have be producing sparks with their racquet-shaped wands, will be James Studdard, who was a semi-finalist in the Spring AMT singles and doubles, Chris Watson, Lachlan Dalton and Nino Rechichi.
