A trio of Aussie women will take to the hard courts of Flushing Meadows on Tuesday hoping to join young compatriots Bernard Tomic and Ash Barty in the second round of the US Open.

Sam Stosur and Olivia Rogowska will play their first round matches back-to-back on Louis Armstrong Stadium, while Casey Dellacqua battles fellow qualifier Ajla Tomljanovic of Croatia on Court 9.

There are no Aussie men in singles action on Day 2 in New York – the men’s first round spreads over three days.

Yet there are several taking to the court in doubles, including Bernard Tomic, Chris Guccione, Marinko Matosevic, John-Patrick Smith and Paul Hanley.
