South Australian tennis fans will welcome the Australian Pro Tour this week with the Nyrstar Port Pirie Tennis International taking place at Port Pirie Tennis Association from 22 to 30 October.

Port Pirie locals can watch a line-up of high quality Australian players including Isabella Holland (Qld), Olivia Rogowska (Vic), Sally Peers (Vic) and Monique Adamczak (NSW).

In the men’s draw, Brydan Klein (WA) is hoping to win a second Pro Tour title after his recent success in Kalgoorlie.  Hot on his heels are James Lemke (Vic), Matt Reid (NSW) and Nick Lindahl (NSW) who will also battle it out for valuable ranking points.

A number of international players, including Japan’s Erika Sema and Hiroki Moriya, Great Britain’s Emily Webley-Smith and Toby Martin and New Zealand’s Sacha Jones and Jose Statham  are also travelling to South Australia to compete.

Tournament Director, Melissa Jelliff is looking forward to Port Pirie hosting the next leg of the tour.

“It’s fantastic to once again be able to bring a host of world-class players to Port Pirie. To have emerging national talent such as Isabella Holland and Olivia Rogowska mixing it up with established international players is very exciting.

“The Port Pirie Regional Council and the local community have been long-standing supporters of the Australian Pro Tour, so we hope the whole town will head down and get behind this year’s Nyrstar Port Pirie International,” said Jelliff.

The Nyrstar Port Pirie Tennis International is part of the 2011–2012 Australian Pro Tour, a series of professional tennis events that bridge junior events and the ATP/WTA Tour, providing an opportunity for players to earn their first world ranking points.
