National Funding Programs
Australian Sports Foundation
The Australian Sports Foundation (ASF) was established by the Australian Government to assist community organisations raise funds for the development of Australian sport. The ASF is supported by the Australian Sports Commission.
The Australian Sports Foundation operates the Sport Incentive Program. Specifically the program aims to increase opportunities for Australians to participate in sport, and/or excel in sports performance. You may apply for the following types of funding:
- facility development
- facility feasibility study
- team travel
- hosting a major sporting event
- sport development.
Active after-school programs
Active After-School Communities program grants are for participating primary schools and Out of School Hours Care Services to assist with program costs associated with:
- community coach delivery
- venue/facility hire
- sporting equipment
- afternoon tea (schools only).
Sports leadership for women
Sport Leadership Grants and Scholarships for Women, provide women with opportunities to undertake training to reach their leadership potential within the industry as coaches, officials and administrators. Grants of up to $5000 for individuals and $10,000 for organisations, and scholarships of up to $10,000 per annum are available. Grants and scholarships are available in the following categories:
- management and administration
- communications, media and marketing.
Local Sporting Champions Grant
Young people find it difficult to meet the ongoing and significant costs associated with participation at sporting competitions, particularly those from regional areas.
The Local Sporting Champions program is an Australian Government initiative designed to provide financial assistance for young people aged 12–18 towards the cost of travel, accommodation, uniforms or equipment when competing, coaching or officiating at an official national sporting organisation endorsed state, national or international sporting championships or a School Sport Australia state or national championships.
