Australia came third in the ITF World Junior Tennis Asia / Oceania Final Qualifying event after beating host nation Thailand 3-0 on the final day.

Casey Hoole finished the week undefeated after winning a high quality opening singles rubber 6-3 7-5.

Philip Sekulic followed suit in the second singles rubber, beating Tanapatt Nirundorn 6-4 6-1 to give Australia an unassailable 2-0 lead in the tie.

Hoole and Edward Vo then set the seal on the victory, beating their Thai opponents 1-6 6-3 10-5 to finish the week on a high.

Despite the defeat, Thailand qualified alongside Australia for the ITF World Junior Tennis Finals, held in August in Czech Republic. They will be joined in Czech Republic by the overall winners China, and runners-up Japan.
