Aussie girls fall short in India
Australia's Junior Fed Cup team have missed out on a berth at September's World Finals in Hungary after falling to India in the Asia/Oceania qualifying event.
Australia’s Junior Fed Cup team lost to India 0-2 on Thursday at the Asia/Oceania final qualifying competition in New Delhi.
The loss means the team has not qualified for the World Finals in September.
Aussie players Jessica Zaviacic and Jeanette Lin both battled hard against their Indian opposition, yet both fell in three sets.
Australia plays Chinese Taipei on Friday in the play-off for fifth to eighth positions in the Asia/Oceania region.
Should the girls win, they will play off for fifth position on Saturday.
