24 May 2017 | Tennis West

Tennis West supported by the Department of Sport and Recreation and Tennis Australia have commenced with the development of a Strategic Facilities Plan for Tennis.  Inside Edge -Sport and Leisure Consultants have been engaged to work with Tennis West.  The key aim of the project is to develop a vision or road map for the future of tennis facilities in Western Australia.

The final document will provide a clear direction about facility planning to Tennis West, tennis clubs throughout Western Australia, the Department of Sport and Recreation and local government authorities.  Stakeholders will hopefully find this to be a document that assists their decision making. The plan will focus on defining what tennis and tennis facilities will look like in the future. Where new clubs are located, court numbers, member to court ratios, playing surfaces and support amenities will all be issues addressed within the plan

During the week beginning 1 May 2017, Inside Edge were in Perth for their first visit.  The team got to see a large number of club facilities and met with key local government stakeholders from the growth corridors of the Perth metropolitan area.  The information provided by the practitioners will be extremely helpful in the development of the strategic facilities document.
