From the far north of the Kimberley to the Great Southern, and everywhere in between, Tennis West has been taking tennis to communities across Western Australia in 2025/26.
Throughout the financial year, our team travelled far and wide across the state, visiting 71 unique locations and delivering tennis opportunities to communities of all sizes. From major regional centres to some of WA’s most remote towns, we have continued our commitment to making tennis accessible for everyone, no matter where they live.
Reflecting on another successful year of regional delivery, Tennis West Regional Manager Colin Thompson said the opportunity to connect with communities across WA is what makes the work so rewarding:
“One of the best parts of working in regional tennis is getting out into communities right across Western Australia and seeing the passion people have for our sport. Whether we’re introducing children to tennis for the first time, supporting local clubs and volunteers, or helping players develop through our Regional Talent Series, every visit is an opportunity to make a lasting impact. We’ve had an incredible year travelling to every corner of the state, and we’re excited to build on that momentum and connect with even more communities in the year ahead.”
Our journey stretched from Wyndham in the north to Albany in the south, Kalbarri in the west to Kununurra in the east, with our team clocking up thousands of kilometres along the way to bring tennis directly to communities.
Across these locations, we delivered a wide range of programs and initiatives, including school visits, teacher and community upskilling, club support, Red Ball competitions, Regional Talent Series events, Cardio Tennis sessions and much more.
Whether it was introducing a new generation of players to the sport, supporting local volunteers and coaches, or helping regional clubs continue to grow, every visit played an important role in strengthening tennis across WA.
From the coast to the outback, our mission remains the same: to create more opportunities for more people to enjoy tennis, wherever they are.
Thank you to every school, club, coach, volunteer and community member who welcomed us throughout the 2025/26 financial year. We can’t wait to continue bringing tennis to even more corners of WA.
Tennis West extends it thanks to the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport, and Healthway for their ongoing support throughout the year!
