14 July 2025 | Tennis Victoria

This month we’re proud to shine a spotlight on Finn Fitzgerald from Upwey South Tennis Club who has been awarded our Community Champion of the Month award for July! Finn has been recognised for his outstanding involvement in the 2024/25 Future Leaders Program. From day one, Finn embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm and commitment, a true standout among the Future Leaders cohort.

As part of the program, Finn volunteered at Kids on Court during this year’s Australian Open, taking on multiple shifts to create unforgetable experiences for young participants. His enthusiasm and team spiti made him a natural leader. But it was Finn’s recent work off the court that really highlights the kind of leader he’s becoming.

Taking the reins on a major milestone event, Upwey South Tennis Club’s 50th birthday, project-manage the entire celebration. From coordinating logistics to connecting with past members and curating the club’s history, he ensured the milestone event was a true reflection of the club’s legacy. His respect for the club’s story and commitment to its future was clear in every detail.

Finn’s involvement is what we love to see, youth leadership in tennis. His work is a great example of how generational leadership can help clubs sustain success in the long term.

Tennis Victoria is also keen to welcome Finn into a mentoring role for future cohorts of the Future Leaders program. His journey is just getting started, and we can’t wait to see the impact he continues to make.

Well done Finn on receiving this recognition and thank you for your impact in helping to make tennis thrive in Victoria.
