Beaconsfield Tennis Club is delighted to recognise Bronwyn McCormick as our Community Champion for February 2026, honouring her exceptional service, leadership, and dedication to the club over many years. Bronwyn has been a driving force behind countless improvements, initiatives, and community‑building efforts, leaving a lasting impact on every corner of the club.

Bronwyn has served as President for the past two years, following two years as Treasurer and around five years on the committee. Her leadership has been defined by reliability, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to the wellbeing of members. One of her most remarkable contributions has been her dedication to the junior competition canteen, where she has given up every Saturday and Sunday to ensure young players and families are supported. Her presence, energy, and consistency have become a cornerstone of the junior program.

Throughout her time on the committee, Bronwyn has modernised the club’s operations in meaningful ways. She introduced online accounting systems that improved financial transparency and efficiency, and she implemented the Book a Court digital access system, making court use easier and more accessible for members and visitors. Her efforts in securing grants have significantly increased funding for club improvements, including playing a key role in obtaining lighting‑upgrade funding through collaboration with council and the recreation reserve.

Bronwyn has also been instrumental in strengthening the club’s sense of community. She has organised numerous member engagement and fundraising events, established a Healthy Canteen Initiative to promote wellbeing, and implemented no‑smoking and no‑vaping policies to support a safer environment. Her commitment to safety and care is further reflected in her completion of the Help Line course for Domestic Abuse and her work to enhance accident and incident reporting procedures.

Her vision for inclusivity has led to the creation of an over‑50s social group and competition, broadening participation and ensuring the club remains welcoming to all ages. She is currently leading the organisation of new fencing upgrades and securing funding for that project, while also overseeing facility improvements such as new paintwork and flooring. Bronwyn has coordinated support from Bourke and Beyond to assist with maintenance and improvement works, further demonstrating her ability to bring people and organisations together for the benefit of the club.

Bronwyn’s leadership extends to mentoring individuals within the community, including Blake, a young volunteer gaining valuable experience through canteen work under her guidance. She continues to support the junior competition by assisting team managers, preparing team kits, and ensuring the program runs smoothly each week.

Bronwyn’s contribution to Beaconsfield Tennis Club is extraordinary. Her dedication, generosity, and tireless work have strengthened the club in ways that will be felt for years to come. Naming her our Community Champion for February 2026 is an acknowledgment of everything she has done for the club’s members, facilities, and community.
