Tennis Victoria is proud to recognise Gardiner Tennis Club as our Affiliate of the Month!

As the Summer of Tennis continues across Victoria and the Australian Open gets underway next week, Gardiner Tennis Club is setting a strong example of how community clubs can help make tennis welcoming and accessible for everyone.

As part of Tennis Victoria’s Accessibility Week, the club hosted a Come & Try Day, inviting people of all abilities to experience tennis in a fun, supportive and inclusive environment. This initiative reflects the spirit of the Summer of Tennis, encouraging new participants to engage with the sport at a grassroots level during one of the most exciting times in the tennis calendar.

In addition to this event, Gardiner Tennis Club completed the Accessibility Checklist, taking a proactive approach to assessing how inclusive and accessible their venue is for people with disabilities. This process demonstrates the club’s genuine commitment to understanding the needs of its community and continuously improving the experience for all players, members and visitors.

The enthusiasm and openness of the Gardiner Tennis Club committee and coaching team has been a standout. Their willingness to listen, learn and adapt highlights a forward-thinking mindset and a strong sense of responsibility toward their local community. By actively engaging in initiatives that promote inclusion, the club is leading by example and helping to shape a more accessible future for tennis in Victoria.

Gardiner Tennis Club’s commitment to inclusion, collaboration and continuous improvement strongly reflects the values of Tennis Victoria. Congratulations to the entire Gardiner Tennis Club team on this well-deserved recognition as Affiliate of the Month.
