The seventh-annual Kids Tennis Day, brought to you by ANZ Tennis Hot Shots, is back, bigger and better than ever, with Guy Sebastian today announced as the headline act for 2019.

Sebastian is currently enjoying great support around his new single ‘Before I Go’ and the hit maker has just been announced as a superstar Coach on The Voice in 2019.

The singer-songwriter has had more than 40 platinum-certified releases since his Idol crown in 2003 and made the country’s debut for Eurovision in 2015. Sebastian will perform live on Saturday 12 January alongside some of the best tennis stars for Kids Tennis Day.

There will be two Arena spectaculars scheduled with Sebastian set to perform at both RLA and MCA on the day – allowing more people than ever before the chance to witness the magic and be a part of the 2019 Kids Tennis Day celebrations.

“The year 2019 is looking very exciting for me, with new music, working on The Voice, and Kids Tennis Day is a perfect way to kick things off,” Sebastian said.

“I love the Australian Open and it’s great to be part of the lead-up to this wonderful event in Melbourne.”

All the family-friendly Australian Open entertainment kicks off with Kids Tennis Day on Saturday 12 January, with more than 20,000 kids and their parents expected to join in a fun-filled day.

The always exciting AO Ballpark will also return in 2019, in a brand new location next to the National Tennis Centre. With all day entertainment on offer – make sure you book your time to guarantee your spot and avoid disappointment.

Kids will be able to take advantage of a 12-metre water slide and Super Soaker Play Zone, movies at the Emirates Family Sanctuary, plus face painting, bubble artists, stilt walkers and much more.

“The Australian Open is an enjoyable experience for the whole family, and it is so great to see more and more families and kids taking over Melbourne Park each year,” Australian Open Tournament Director Craig Tiley said.

“Kids Tennis Day is one of the highlights of the summer calendar bringing together the tennis community from the parents and kids all the way up to the elite players – providing a fun and friendly environment for all.”

The familiar faces of Peppa Pig, PJ Masks and the Octonauts will also be around on the day, while the ANZ Tennis Hot Shots activations will allow kids to pick up a racquet and have a go with smaller courts and modified equipment so everyone can get involved.

Kids under 15 are $5, with adult tickets available for $25. Please note ground passes will be available to purchase should the RLA and MCA Spectaculars sell out.
