Ajla Tomljanovic has continued her impressive form at the Tianjin Open in China by winning through to the quarterfinals late on Wednesday.

The Croatian-born Tomljanovic, coached by Aussie David Taylor, beat Ying-Ying Duan of China 6-4 6-4 to take her place in the last eight.

Since reaching the fourth round at Roland Garros, the 69th-ranked Tomljanovic has endured 4-11 stretch.

However, she has recovered her form this week in China to set up a quarter-final meeting with second seed Peng Shuai, a recent US Open semifinalist.

Tomljanovic is the eighth seed in Tianjin this week.
