Harry Bourchier has opened his campaign at the Nanjing Youth Olympic Games tennis event with a three-set win in the first round.
Also winning were Naiktha Bains and Priscilla Hon, who combined to win their first round girls’ doubles match.
Bourchier overcame Serbia’s Petar Conkic 5-7 6-0 6-3 to set up a second-round meeting with No.3 seed Karen Khachanov of Russia.
Compatriot Marc Polmans fell in his first-round encounter to Kamil Majchrzak of Poland, 6-3 6-2.
Bains and Hon will kick off their singles campaigns in Nanjing on Monday, while Bourchier and Polmans will team up in the first round of the boys’ doubles.
