Sam Stosur and Russian partner Svetlana Kuznetsova have on Wednesday won through to the doubles semifinals of the BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells.

The wildcard pairing overcame Japanese-Czech combo Kimiko Date-Krumm and Barbora Zahlavova Strycova 1-6 6-3 [10-6] in one hour and eight minutes.

Their opponents in the final four will be top seeds and reigning Wimbledon champions Hsieh Su-Wei and Peng Shuai, who won their quarterfinal against Stosur’s compatriots Ash Barty and Casey Dellacqua.

The semifinal is Stosur and Kuznetsova’s best result since they teamed to win the title in Moscow in October 2013.
