It has been a tough day for the final three Australian’s hoping to qualify for the main draw of the 2014 Australian Open.
In the men’s singles JP Smith went down to American No.4 seed Denis Kudla in two sets 6-2 6-2, while 19-year old Andrew Harris was defeated by China’s Ze Zhang 6-2 6-4.
Australia’s only remaining competitor in the women’s singles, Anastasia Rodionova, has also been eliminated. Rodionova lost to German Carina Witthoeft 6-3 7-5.
