Brisbane’s Isabella Holland is into her first professional singles final since 2011 after continuing her giant killing run at the 2013 Hutchinson Builders Toowoomba International.
Holland defeated second seeded Victorian Azra Hadzic 6-4 6-2 in front of an appreciative centre court crowd on Saturday, and will aim for her second ITF career title when she battles Czech Zuzana Zlochova in Sunday’s final.
Top seed Zlochova ended the hopes of an all-Queensland final when she defeated Rockhampton’s Olivia Tjandramulia 6-2 2-6 6-2.
Zlochova will be aiming for the 11th title of her career but the first at the ITF $15,000 level.
On the men’s side, sixth seed Andrew Whittington continued his great form here in Toowoomba with an upset 4-6 6-2 6-2 victory over South Australian Luke Saville.
Whittington will contest his second professional final of 2013; standing in his way is experienced New South Welshman Adam Feeney.
Second seed Feeney rallied from a set down to defeat Queenslander Gavin van Peperzeel 3-6 6-4 6-0.
The winners of the men’s and women’s titles will then be invited for a bird’s eye view of Toowoomba aboard the RACQ Careflight Helicopter.
