Venue

Full Conference package – Registrations open from 7:30am on Thursday 11 January at Hisense Arena Door 8 with the conference commencing at 9:00am.

Single Day Conference package – Registrations open 1 hour prior to the first presentation each day at Hisense Arena Door 8.

Please arrive early with plenty of time to collect your accreditation pass prior to registering for the event.  There will be a lounge area for delegates who arrive early to the venue. 

 

Accreditation

On arrival an accreditation sticker can be collected from any of the three accreditation offices as per the map attached and times below:

Satellite Accreditation – from 6:00am

Grand Slam Oval Accreditation – from 7:00am

Garden Square Accreditation – from 7:00am

The sticker will allow you into the grounds where you will then proceed to the Conference Registration Desk located at Hisense Arena Door 8 to collect your photo accreditation pass.

Please note:

  • If you have not supplied your passport style photo for accreditation please do so immediately. If not supplied you may be subject to a long wait outside the grounds.
  • You must present photo ID to collect your accreditation.
  • You must sign the accreditation terms and conditions when collecting your accreditation.
  • Wear your accreditation at all times on site; you will not be able to gain access to Melbourne Park without it.
  • Your accreditation will give you access to the Australian Open until Wednesday 17 January 2017.

Accreditation passes for delegates who register for a single day conference package will not have official accreditation access to the first three days of the Australian Open.

 

Public Transport and Parking

Trams and trains are the most convenient way to access Melbourne Park.

Free trams:

Your Official Australian Open accreditation will entitle you to free tram travel on the entire Melbourne tram network after collection. Route 70 will take you directly to Hisense Arena.

Trains:

Richmond, Flinders Street and Jolimont stations are within easy walking distance to Melbourne Park.

Access to the venue from Flinders Street is past Federation Square and along Birrarung Marr, on the north side of the Yarra River, to the Garden Square Entrance.

To reach Melbourne Park, delegates travelling from Richmond station need to walk west along Olympic Boulevard, entering via the Grand Slam Oval entrance.

From Jolimont Station the venue is a short walk south through Yarra Park and over the footbridge to enter via Garden Square.

Planning your journey:

To plan how to get to Melbourne Park visit Public Transport Victoria’s website http://ptv.vic.gov.au/ . Simply enter where you are travelling from and enter “Hisense Arena” as your destination and you will receive a customised trip plan from your door to the 2017 Australian Grand Slam Coaches Conference.

 

Car parking

Limited car parking will be available at the National Tennis Centre ($15.00 per day).

Car Parking MUST be pre-booked  before Sunday 7 January. Contact us to book
Tickets will be held at Entrance G for your collection on arrival when collecting your Accreditation pass – they will not be posted.

 

 

Luggage

Luggage can be stored at the registration area. Please ensure you collect your belongings needed for the day prior to storage as this is not accessible throughout the day. No luggage can be stored overnight.

 

Dress code

Conference: Smart casual or tennis clothing can be worn to this event. Please wear appropriate footwear as some presentations involve on court activities.

Cardio Tennis Challenge: Registered participants must wear sporting attire with non-marking tennis shoes. Please bring a racquet, drink bottle, towel and change of clothes for the rest of the day.

Kids Tennis Day: Registered participants must wear sporting attire with non-marking tennis shoes and their Hot Shots t-shirt. Please bring a racquet, drink bottle, towel and change of clothes for the rest of the day.

Cocktail Evening at The Pavillion at the Arts Centre: Smart casual must be worn to this event. Male guests must wear a shirt with a collar. Ripped jeans and thongs are not permitted.

 

Catering

Morning tea and lunch will be provided to delegates each day of the conference.  Additional catered functions include Happy Hour on Thursday 11 January and the Coaches’ Conference Cocktail Evening on Saturday 13 January.

*Delegates with dietary requirements – your requests have been sent to our caterers. Please make yourself known to the caterers in meal breaks/during meal service.

 

Cardio Tennis Challenge – National Tennis Centre – Indoor Courts

Kids Tennis Day

Saturday 13 January 2018, 7:15am – 11:00am

It’s the biggest kids event of the summer and we invite you to get involved.

If you would like to be an on-court assistant and are yet to confirm your interest please confirm by return email.

With a sold out event last year, Kids Tennis Day this year is set to be even bigger and better!

Coaches will meet at 7:15 am, with location to be confirmed.

Coaches who arrive after this time, will not be able to assist with the on-court activations.

 

Cocktail Evening – The Pavillion @ The Arts Centre

Saturday 13 January 2018, 6:00pm – 11:00pm

A chance to network and reflect on the 3 days of the conference with your fellow delegates.

The evening will begin with canapes and drinks and  with music entertainment.

The cocktail evening is included within the cost of full package registrations only and travel to the event is at your own expense.

If you would like to bring a guest or your attending a single day and would like to attend the dinner the cost is $159 per head and this can be arranged over the phone.

Additional guests names must be supplied.  All guests will check in prior to entering the event.

Tickets to the event are not transferrable between delegates or partners.
