A year older than Lleyton Hewitt, Nathan Healey showed as much promise as his close friend during their junior years and was an orange boy at Australia’s first-round Davis Cup tie against France in 1997 and again during the World Group quarterfinal against Belarus in 2006.
Healey won three ATP doubles titles in Sopot, 2001, Sydney, 2003, and Beijing, 2005.
The son of Jan, a pathologist at Gosford Hospital, and Greg, a tennis coach and electrician, Nathan has two younger brothers, Ryan and Brett.
He learned to play tennis aged nine and also enjoys music, yoga, snowboarding and horseracing.
Nathan married his partner of three years, American Marnie Heller, in a beach wedding in Avoca, NSW on 23 December 2007.
In August 2009 he took up a role as Lleyton Hewitt’s coach, which he resigned from in August 2010.
