Krishananth Balakrishnan

Known as Kris to his family and friends, Krishananth Balakrishnan’s first tennis racquet was a wooden spoon that he picked up when he was four years old and used to bat around a tennis ball.

The son of Bala, an IT manager, and Yogana, a stay-at-home mum, Kris has two older siblings, Janar and Aba.

His tennis hero is Andre Agassi for his playing style and on-court conduct and Kris has a similar style to the American legend with an aggressive baseline game and counter-punching technique.

Off court, Kris enjoys swimming, cycling, listening to music, playing chess, completing Sudoku puzzles and watching TV.

His favourite food is pizza and Subway and his favourite tennis tournament is Wimbledon.
