For more than 11 years, Sarah Flannery has been the driving force behind the day-to-day operations and junior development at the Kalbarri Tennis Club, earning recognition as Tennis West’s Club Corner Volunteer of the Month.

Since taking on the role of secretary in 2015, Sarah has single handedly managed the club’s administration, communications and finances, helping ensure the club continues to thrive both on and off the court.

One of Sarah’s most significant contributions came in her very first year as secretary, when she took it upon herself to establish junior tennis coaching in Kalbarri. Thanks to her commitment and enthusiasm, the program has continued to run successfully for the past 11 years, providing local children with the opportunity to learn and enjoy the game.

Sarah’s impact goes far beyond administration. She has remained actively involved in coaching sessions over the years, regularly assisting professional coaches on court, supporting children and parents off court, and helping sessions run smoothly each term.

Her efforts have also helped create a welcoming community atmosphere at the club, including organising end-of-term barbecues that bring players and families together.

The Kalbarri Tennis Club says Sarah’s dedication has been instrumental in ensuring junior tennis continues to exist in the region and that the club operates as efficiently as it does today.

Tennis West congratulates Sarah on being named Club Corner Volunteer of the Month and thanks her for her outstanding contribution to community tennis in Western Australia.
