It was a hugely successful start to the week for West Aussie Storm Hunter as she and Marc Polmans continued their mixed doubles form, progressing to the mixed doubles final after a straight-sets victory over established doubles players Mate Pavic and Fanny Stollar.

After triumphing over top-seeded Italians Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori in the second round, Hunter and Polmans maintained the momentum in their quarterfinal encounter on Monday against Argentine Guido Andreozzi and Indonesian Aldila Sutjiadi.

The pair launched eight aces to two in their 7-6(5) 7-5 victory, both reaching their first mixed doubles semifinal at the All-England Club.

In the semifinal, the pair battled hard in the first set to win the tie-break 7-5 before breaking away in the second set to win in straight sets on court 12.

Hoping to become the first all-Australian pairing to win the crown at Wimbledon since John Fitzgerald and Liz Smylie in 1991, Hunter and Polmans will now face Jelena Ostapenko and Marcelo Arevalo in the final on centre court on Thursday (Time TBC).
