The 2026 Fuel to Go and Play Schools Classic has officially come to a close, capping off another outstanding year of school tennis across Western Australia.
Over the course of the competition, schools from across metropolitan and regional WA came together to celebrate participation, teamwork and school spirit, with students proudly representing their schools in one of the state’s most cherished school sporting events.
From bustling metro courts to regional centers far and wide, the Schools Classic once again showcased the incredible reach of tennis across Western Australia. The event travelled through communities across the state, bringing students together from Perth, the Wheatbelt, the Great Southern and the South West, and providing memorable experiences both on and off the court.
The Schools Classic continues to be much more than a competition. It is an opportunity for students to connect with their peers, build confidence, represent their school community and experience the excitement of team tennis in a fun and inclusive environment.
Across every division, the standard of play, sportsmanship and enthusiasm on display highlighted the strength of school tennis pathways throughout WA and the passion that schools continue to bring to the event year after year.
For many students, the competition was a chance to create lasting memories with teammates and teachers, while for others it was an opportunity to test themselves against strong opposition and experience the thrill of finals tennis on some of the state’s premier courts.
As the final matches were completed, Tennis West Schools and Pathways Officer, Radu Vaidean reflected on another hugely successful campaign:
“This year’s Schools Classic has been a fantastic celebration of tennis across Western Australia. The level of engagement from schools, students and teachers has been exceptional, and it has been wonderful to see the event continue to grow and reach communities right across the state.”
Tennis West would like to extend a sincere thank you to all students, teachers, school staff, volunteers, officials and venue partners who helped make the 2026 Schools Classic such a success.
A special thank you also must go to our partners in Healthway and Maxiblock Sunscreen for their incredible support of the Schools Classic this year.
