After two successful years at Cottesloe Tennis Club, the 2026 Club Champion of Champions returns to the grass courts of Alexander Park Tennis Club in April.
Recognised as one of the most prestigious tournaments on the Tennis West calendar, the Champion of Champions brings together titleholders from affiliated clubs to compete for ultimate club bragging rights and determine the ultimate champion.
First held in 1964, the inaugural winners were Dorothy Whitely (Lee) and Brian Bowman. Over the years, the event has seen multiple distinguished winners, including Christine Matison (Dorey), Paula Parentich, Gary Penberthy, and Rob Casey.
After being discontinued in 1995, the Champion of Champions was reintroduced at the conclusion of the 2023-24 Summer League season.
In 2024, Peyton Duckett and Hans Bustiman were the men’s and women’s singles champions. Last year, it was dominated by Cottesloe with Elena Manoj and Max Weir winning their respective singles championships representing Cottesloe Tennis Club.
The knockout singles competition will take place over the weekend of 18–19 April, with the finals staged on the magnificent “bowling green” courts of Alexander Park Tennis Club, beautifully overlooked by the clubhouse terrace.
The Champion of Champions Doubles and Mixed Doubles round-robin events will follow one week later, on 25–26 April, on the hardcourts of the State Tennis Centre.
This exciting event aims to boost club member engagement while reestablishing the Champion of Champions as one of the most prominent events on the competitive tennis calendar. Players will earn the chance to represent their club at the Tennis West Champion of Champions Finals by winning their club’s singles and doubles titles.
This years Champion of Champions will see reduced player entry fees and a Single AMT Format (FFT French style feed-in).
Division 1 men’s and women’s singles winners will receive $500 while runners-up will receive $300. Doubles pairs will receive $250 each if they win and $150 each if runners-up. Winners will also receive a commemorative plaque to be displayed at their club.
Singles and doubles entries open Saturday 7 March and close Singles entries close Monday 13 April, 11.59 pm.
The Tennis West Club Champion of Champions is supported by Dunlop, Maxiblock Sunscreen & Kinetic with singles taking place from Saturday April 18 and Sunday April 19 at Alexander Park Tennis Club and doubles Saturday April 25 and Sunday April 26 at the State Tennis Centre.
