24 January 2026 | Tennis West

The 2026 CBH Group Country Tennis Championships held at Alexander Park signaled a renewed era of regional connection and growth, driven by the successful rollout of a revamped Adult Teams format and new date.

Held from 2–4 January in Perth, the Championships united regional athletes from across Western Australia in a spirited celebration of tennis, community, and country pride.

The change of date for this year’s CBH Group Country Tennis Championship was to align with the United Cup and allow for travelling regional players the chance to watch world class tennis.

The Regional Working Group considered multiple options for the date and sought feedback from the country tennis community.

The revamped Adult Teams Format was introduced to preserve the history and identity of the event while offering more inclusive, player‑friendly competition opportunities.

This year’s Championships introduced a refreshed Men’s, Women’s, and Mixed Teams structure that preserved longstanding club identities while broadening the appeal for returning and new competitors.

The response exceeded expectations with 60 adult players competing in the team events and a total of 70 adults across teams and singles—up from 29 adult competitors in 2025. Overall, there were 95 competitors over the three-day event.

Reflecting a wider trend of adults seeking flexible, socially connected sporting experiences, participation surged and it was exciting to see 18 teams competing in the event which has grown steadily since 2024.

In the junior divisions, the competitive standard remained high, with standout performances across age groups. Two major junior trophies were awarded to deserving champions:

  • Ladyman Family Trophy — Boys U14 Champion: David Valenta
  • Rundle Trophy — Girls U14 Champion: Tea Zizek

Tennis West would like to thank CBH Group for their ongoing support of the Country Tennis Championships.
