The Tennis West Participation Team recently hit the road for a successful visit along Western Australia’s stunning South Coast, connecting with regional tennis communities and schools through a series of coaching sessions, competitions, and activations.

Across five days, the team visited Bremer Bay Tennis Club, Boxwood Hill Tennis Club, and Condingup Tennis Club, delivering a mix of junior coaching and adult cardio tennis sessions. In total, 102 players took part, showcasing the enthusiasm and growing passion for tennis in regional WA.

The trip also included a stop at Bremer Bay Primary School, where students enjoyed a fun and engaging tennis activation designed to introduce the sport to new players and build confidence through play.

To cap off the trip, the team hosted a vibrant Fuel to Go and Play Red Ball Competition at Esperance Tennis Club, welcoming nine local schools with a total of 130 students. The event was filled with energy, teamwork, and plenty of smiles as young players experienced the thrill of competition in a supportive environment. Tennis West thanks Healthway, MaxiBlock, and Kinetic for their ongoing support of the Red Ball Competitions.

Reflecting on the success of the trip, Tennis Development Manager South, Marisa Gianotti said the strong turnout highlighted the passion for tennis throughout the region:

“It was fantastic to see such strong engagement across our affiliated clubs during the South Coast visit. The energy around the club activations was high, with participation numbers reflecting the passion and commitment of their tennis communities.”

Tennis West extends its thanks to the clubs, schools, volunteers, and local communities who helped make the South Coast trip such a success. These visits highlight the ongoing commitment to growing tennis participation and ensuring players of all ages and abilities have access to quality experiences, no matter where they live.

Tennis West also extends its thanks to the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport for its ongoing support of our regional roadshows through the Regional Servicing Grant.
