If there’s a job to be done at Higgins Park Tennis Club, chances are Ian “Roo” Parsons has already rolled up his sleeves and taken care of it. Known affectionately as the club’s “365-day Busy Bee man,” Ian is a tireless volunteer whose skills, dedication, and can-do attitude make him an indispensable part of the club community. For his incredible hands-on contributions and selfless commitment, Ian Parsons has been named Tennis West’s Club Corner Volunteer of the Month.

Described by his fellow members as a “never say no” volunteer, Roo is the go-to person for just about anything that needs doing; from fixing and building to polishing and painting. With his practical know-how and unmatched willingness to help, he keeps the club in top condition year-round, saving the club an enormous amount of money by eliminating the need for tradespeople.

Ian’s impact goes beyond tools and repairs. His quiet commitment, reliability, and pride in his work foster a sense of community and care at Higgins Park. His presence ensures the club runs smoothly, looks great, and continues to be a welcoming space for players and visitors alike.

Whether it’s routine maintenance or a major project, Roo approaches every task with enthusiasm and humility. He embodies the very spirit of volunteering; generous, hardworking, and community-minded.

Congratulations, Ian “Roo” Parsons, on being named Tennis West’s Club Corner Volunteer of the Month. Your endless contributions and selfless service are deeply appreciated and truly inspiring.
