The 2025 Regional Talent Series wrapped up in spectacular fashion with a two-day Talent ID Camp held at the State Tennis Centre on April 12–13. This event brought together the brightest young tennis talents from across Western Australia, all of whom had earned their spots by winning their respective regional events.
Each regional tournament crowned champions in both boys’ and girls’ categories, earning them invitations to participate in the two-day ID camp at the State Tennis Centre. This camp aimed to provide these young athletes with advanced training and exposure to higher levels of competition. Click here to see all the winners
Across the two days, the young athletes participated in a jam-packed schedule of activities both on and off the court. Saturday kicked off with an energetic icebreaker session, followed by a series of focused training drills, doubles matchplay, and strength & conditioning. Players also gained unique skills through a Ballkid Upskilling session before enjoying a social evening with dinner and a quiz night.
Sunday continued the momentum with a rally-based on-court session in the morning, followed by mindfulness training and reaction-based drills using BlazePods. The final afternoon saw the kids playing competitive singles and doubles matches before a wrap-up and reflection session, giving players the opportunity to look back on what they had learned and achieved.
Adding to the excitement, the group was treated to special guest appearances from Western Australia’s own WTA stars, Talia Gibson and Maddison Inglis. Their presence brought inspiration and star power, with players thrilled to meet two of the state’s top talents.
With a perfect mix of development, fun, and community, the 2025 Regional Talent Series Talent ID Camp was a memorable experience for all involved. One thing is certain: the future of WA tennis is looking bright!
Tennis West extends its thanks and appreciation to the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries for the ongoing support through the Regional Servicing Grant.
