A week of competition, fellowship and rivalry has come to an end in Adelaide at the 2025 Tennis Seniors Australia National Team Carnival.

Western Australia was best represented with a record 203 competitors across 33 teams with eight teams making finals.

Of WA’s 33 teams, WA was successful in winning 4 GOLD medals.  Winning teams were:

 

  • WA W70 1 – Jo Landy (Captain)
  • WA W60 5 – Debra Kirk (Captain, back-to-back)
  • WA W60 2 – Tracy Adams (Captain)
  • WA M70 2 – Kevin Dingle (Captain)

 

 

In addition, WA were Runners Up in 4 divisions:

  • WA W70 2 – Wendy Weir (Captain)
  • WA W60 1 – Kymm Sweeting (Captain)
  • WA M80 – Garry McDonald (Captain)
  • WA M60 1 – Shane Smedley (Captain)

 

The ITF MT1000 immediately followed the National Teams Carnival in Adelaide.  Some notable results included:

  • Cameron Norsworthy – Winner Men’s Singles 40
  • Bobbie Edwards – Winner Women’s Singles 85
  • Brett Patten – Runner Up Men’s Doubles 50
  • John Holland & Shane Smedley – Runners Up Men’s Doubles 60
  • Bobbie Edwards – Runner Up Women’s Doubles 80

 

Planning is already underway for the 2026 Tennis Seniors Australia National Teams Carnival in Queensland from the 4th – 9th January 2025 and the Australian Individual Championships from the 11th – 16th January. Read more

Western Australia’s only ITF MT200 event has been moved from its traditional December timeslot (RKPTC) to April 4 – 7 (Dalkeith TC) for 2025.
