Boasting both a career best doubles world ranking and producing an amazing season, Matthew Ebden and Storm Hunter were named the 2023 WA Pro Player of the Year at the 2024 Tennis West Awards Night.

The Tennis West Awards Night, proudly presented by KC Australia is Tennis West’s prestigious event that celebrated and recognised  the outstanding achievements of our state’s junior and senior players, clubs, coaches, schools, volunteers, officials and administrators of our sport.

In career best form, Matt Ebden achieved one of his best seasons, reaching number 1 in the world doubles ranking with several standout performances throughout the last 18 months.

In 2023 Ebden won his maiden Master title winning the 2023 Indian Wells and went onto reach the finals of two other Masters 1000 events in Shanghai and Paris Masters events.

In 2024 Matt won his first Australian Open Doubles title with partner Robin Bopanna which propelled him to world number 1.

Storm Hunter ended the 2023 season as the World Number 1 in doubles and achieved a career best singles ranking of 114 in the world.

In 2023, Hunter reached back-to-back quarterfinals at the Australian Open in doubles and won her second WTA 1000 title partnering with Elise Mertens.

Hunter has had a wonderful singles run qualifying for the main draw at Roland Garros, Wimbledon and making the third round at the 2024 Australian Open.

At the 2023 WTA Finals Hunter reached the semifinals which propelled her to World Number 1 in Doubles.

Another highlight of the night included the induction of Casey Dellacqua as the 12th inductee to the Tennis West Hall of Champions in front of her friends and family.
