The Tennis West League Operations has today finalised the fixtures for the 2023/24 Tennis West State League Competition. 

The 2023/24 State League Season kicks off this Friday night with four of the six Round One fixtures held under lights. 

State League enthusiasts will have to wait for Round Five for the women’s final rematch with Peppermint Grove Tennis Club hosting Alexander Park Tennis Club on a one-off Sunday fixture. 

Tennis West State League has undergone significant changes over the past couple of years. This is the result of the need to re-establish the footprint of this competition to play a pivotal role in the development of our high-performance players, clubs, coaches, umpires, and officials. Tennis West has identified the need to create a competitive tennis product this is going to drive the marketability and sustainability of Western Australia’s top tennis competition. 

 

Friday Night Lights 

A total of 27 fixtures across the men’s and women’s State League will take place under lights on a Friday night. 18 of the fixtures will be in the men’s competition. 

Round One starts with a bang with reigning Men’s champions Cottesloe Tennis Club going up against UWA Tennis Club on the UWA clay courts. The matchup should be a close one with UWA, the only team to defeat Cottesloe last year on the clay courts. 

Blue Gum Park Tennis Club will host Alexander Park Tennis Club on Friday night as well as newly formed Mt Lawley/Sorrento up against Peppermint Grove. 

In the Women’s, Hensman Park Tennis Club will host Royal Kings Park Tennis Club in the first Friday night women’s fixture of the season. 

All night fixtures commence promptly at 6pm. 

 

Super Saturday’s 

The traditional 1.00 pm Saturday fixtures will continue this season with a total of 31 fixtures scheduled for Saturday. 

Defending Women’s champions Peppermint Grove Tennis Club will host Applecross Tennis Club while runners-up Alexander Park Tennis Club will play against Dalkeith Tennis Club on their home grass courts. 

 

Sunday Funday 

Two Round 5 fixtures will be played on Sunday with Mt Lawley/Sorrento Tennis Club up against Cottesloe Tennis Club in the Men’s while down the road, Peppermint Grove Tennis Club will host Alexander Park Tennis Club in the Women’s competition.

Blue Gum Park v Alexander Park at Blue Gum Park

Mt Lawley/Sorrento v Peppermint Grove at Sorrento

UWA v Cottesloe at UWA

 

WOMEN’S: 

Friday, 6 pm

Hensman Park v Royal Kings Park at Hensman Park

Saturday, 1 pm

Peppermint Grove v Applecross at Peppermint Grove

Alexander Park v Dalkeith at Alexander Park
