The North Beach Tennis Club committee were all smiles last week when they accepted a cheque for $10,000 from ANZ, awarded through the Tennis Hot Shots community grant program.

The $10,000 community grant, which will go towards upgrading the club’s facilities with the installation of spectator seating and shading, will benefit the club and its members tremendously.

North Beach TC President Mr Len Horne said the club was focused on increasing the number of junior players and that the comfort of their spectators was an important consideration when looking to improve the experience of tennis for everyone.

“The grant from ANZ will allow the club to install two spectator shelters with permanent seating and protection from the elements,”

“In looking to encourage more junior members, it’s imperative we look to improve the facilities for the parents who spend a lot of time at the club watching and supporting their children,”

ANZ Innaloo Branch Manager, Lubi Milivojevic said: “We’re excited to present North Beach Tennis Club with this ANZ Tennis Hot Shots community grant. The club is a wonderful part of our community and a great supporter of grass roots tennis.”

Tennis Australia CEO Craig Tiley said: “We are grateful for ANZ’s ongoing support of tennis and the ANZ Tennis Hot Shots program and their commitment to growing the game from the
grassroots level up. We’re excited for North Beach Tennis Club and we know they will make the most of this wonderful opportunity.”

20 tennis clubs or venues from around the country were awarded grants through the ANZ Tennis Hot Shots community grants program. Mt Lawley TC were included in the winners from WA.
