Tennis West currently have seven Book a Court (online court booking) pilot programs commissioned and operating in Perth and the initiative is proving to be highly successful. Clubs with the online booking system are experiencing increased casual court usage, increased income, and in some cases casual players are becoming members of the club.
Four additional clubs are presently being considered as part of a second round of pilot site. The pilot program is being supported through the National Court Rebate program. The support of Tennis Australia to clubs is extremely significant and for many clubs this assistance makes their involvement in the program possible.
The Book a Court initiative is about getting people to use the many high quality tennis facilities that are available at tennis clubs around the state. It also helps club become more sustainable as there is already clear evidence that they are able to generate a significant increase in income from casual usage. More people playing tennis is a major strategic initiative for both Tennis West and Tennis Australia.
