After two days of qualifying rounds, main draw action gets underway tomorrow at the Perth Tennis International #1, with five singles and eight doubles matches played from 10am.

Victorian, Olivia Rogowska (AUS) will kick off the first game of the round against 8th seed Viktoria Kuzmova (SVK). Rogowska has a strong performance record at WA Pro Tour events, winning the Esperance Tennis International twice, and making it to the Final of both the Kalgoorlie and Margaret River events. However, her plucky eighteen year old opponent will certainly be a force to be reckoned with, after a strong 12 months of tennis which saw her take home 4 Singles Pro Tour titles and 2 Doubles Titles.

Aussie young guns Naiktha Bains (AUS) and Priscilla Hon (AUS) were both awarded wildcards into the tournament, and in a turn of events, were then drawn as opponents in the first round. Despite her young age, Hon already has 3 professional titles under her belt, including one last year at the Santa Margherita Di Pula ITF in Italy. Similarily, Bains has had some strong results over the last 12 months, particularly in doubles, taking home 3 professional doubles titles in 2016.

Joining her Aussie compatriots, Abbie Myers (AUS) will also take to the court tomorrow against Alize Lim (FRA). Myers has already had a strong start to 2017, advancing to the Final of the AO Playoffs, where she was beaten in a tight match 7-6(6) 7-5 against fellow Aussie, Jaimee Fourlis.

In the other singles matches, Irina Maria Bara (ROU) will take on Kristie Ahn (USA), and Sherazad Reix (FRA) will face fourth seed Beatriz Haddad Maia (BRA).

The Perth Tennis International provides international and national professional and aspiring pro players a competitive opportunity to earn world ranking points and share of $50,000 in prize money across the two week swing.

Entry is free to all events.
