19 December 2016 | Tennis West

2016 has been a successful year for tennis in Western Australia. Our depth of players has improved significantly over the past 18 months. This has been evident with the number of successful results that we have seen at a national level. As a State, we need to continue to strive for higher training and competition standards to ensure that we continue to grow and ultimately give each other the best chance of reaching our true potential in the sport.

37 Western Australian players were involved in the December Showdown over the past few weeks. The coaching staff were proud to see these players display the values of Compete, Commit and Respect throughout these events. Here are some of the significant results:

Scott Jones – Singles winner 18s Australian Championships
Maddison Inglis – Singles semifinalist 18s Australian Championships
Shanelle Iaconi – Singles semifinalist 12s Australian Championships
Talia Gibson – Singles semifinalist 12s Australian Championships
