Broome

From the 18th – 21st August, Ian Goolagong, Tennis Australia’s National Indigenous Tennis Coach, and Paul Oldfield, Tennis West Community Tennis Officer, conducted tennis clinics in Broome and the surrounding Indigenous communities as part of Tennis Australia’s Indigenous Tennis Program.

During the 4 day visit, over 250 children participated in the ANZ Tennis Hot Shots clinics. These clinics were delivered at; Broome Primary School and Cable Beach Primary School, before heading out to Djarindjin and One-Arm Point communities. Time was also spent with Broome Tennis Clubs coaches; Gary Urquhart and Fiona Sharpe, with their ANZ Tennis Hot Shots coaching sessions.

The aim of the visit was to promote and raise awareness of Tennis Australia’s National Grassroots program, ANZ Tennis Hot Shots. Please visit the ANZ Tennis Hot Shots website for further information.
