Last week participants from WA’s Country Tennis Clubs made their way to Perth to compete in the 2013 CBH Country Tennis Championships. The 2103 event was a new and improved event, combining the Country Week Carnival and the Country Zone Challenge.

196 players from across eleven Tennis West Country Zones took part in the junior and senior championships at Alexander Park Tennis Club, held over 5 days, 23rd – 27th April 2013.

The eleven zones represented throughout the tournament included Lower Great Southern, South West, Midwest, Great Southern, Upper Great Southern, Central Districts, South Coast, Moore Districts, Goldfields, North Midlands and Peel.

“Tennis West are very pleased with the support from our Country Tennis players at this year’s event, and the tennis was played at a high level with great sportsmanship” Brooke Koenig, Community Tennis Manager – Tennis West.

The 2013 CBH Country Tennis Championship included a Teams Event and Australian Ranking Singles Event for juniors as well as a Teams Event and Singles Event for seniors. This year’s tournament was coordinated by Tennis West in conjunction with Tournament Director, Ken Brown.

CBH Representative, Lee Oliver, attended both the junior and senior finals and presented the winning trophies on both days.  This is the fifth year that CBH has supported the tournament, helping it to grow and evolve into the successful tournament it is today.

The Overall Zone Winner of the 2013 CBH Country Challenge Championship was South Coast Zone.
