8 September 2025 | Tennis Victoria

Tennis Victoria is proud to recognise the Australian Melbourne Chinese Tennis Association (AMCTA) as our Affiliate of the Month for September 2025!

As a community-driven and culturally focused organisation, AMCTA has carved out a unique space in Victoria’s tennis landscape. Since affiliating with Tennis Victoria, they’ve become a standout example of how sport can bring people together across culturally diverse backgrounds, championing diversity, inclusion, and structured participation.

With a growing membership base of over 500 players and a vibrant WeChat community of more than 1,200, AMCTA actively engages the Chinese-Australian tennis community in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs. Their events are more than just tournaments, they’re opportunities to build lasting connections, celebrate culture, and showcase talent.

Their calendar features a range of high-quality, UTR-ranked competitions, including the United Cup, RongQiao Cup, Junior Series, and a seasonal Flex League that now counts over 300 participants: making it the largest competition of its kind in Victoria! These structured formats provide accessible entry points for players of all ages and skill levels, while maintaining a competitive edge.

What truly sets AMCTA apart is their ability to balance performance with community spirit. Whether it’s their King’s Birthday junior event, drawing over 100 players, or the upcoming Melbourne Cup Doubles Tournament, expected to exceed 200 participants, each initiative reflects their commitment to fostering belonging and opportunity through tennis.

Looking ahead, AMCTA’s has recently started a new partnership with MCC Glen Iris Valley Tennis Club. The goal is to provide a strong foundation for future growth, giving their programs a permanent home and expanding their reach even further.

Congratulations to everyone at AMCTA. Your culturally inclusive, community-first approach is not only broadening the reach of tennis in Victoria, it’s setting a powerful example of how tennis can serve as a platform for connection.
