Tennis Victoria is thrilled to recognise Beaumaris Lawn Tennis Club as our Affiliate of the Month for August 2025!

Over the past few years, Beaumaris Lawn Tennis Club has led the way in championing Women and Girls in Tennis, demonstrating what’s possible when inclusive values meet purposeful action. With a clear and strategic approach, the club has built a culture where women and girls of all ages and abilities feel welcome, supported, and encouraged to participate and lead.

At the heart of this progress is Club Captain Emma Kate MacCarthy, whose leadership and passion for inclusion was recognised last year with a Women in Sport Award. Her impact has been instrumental in driving change and inspiring others across the club.

A standout contributor from Beaumaris Lawn Tennis Club, Emma Kate is also a graduate of the Women Leaders in Tennis program. Her efforts have helped establish a range of meaningful opportunities including:

• Girls-only multi-age training sessions
• Dedicated coaching classes for girls
• Support for girls entering competitions

The club’s momentum continues to build, with four women having completed the Women Leaders in Tennis program, and one junior completing the Learn 2 Lead program. They’ve also introduced exciting initiatives such as:

• #NoLimits Girls Squad
• State-grade girls training sessions
• All-ages women’s coaching programs

Beaumaris is also investing in future leadership by encouraging youth to step up through programs like Future Leaders and Learn 2 Lead, building strong participation and leadership pathways.
