Daria Gavrilova and Anastasia Rodionova have joined compatriot Sam Stosur in the third round of the Volvo Car Open in Charleston.

The ninth-seeded Gavrilova scored a comfortable 6-3 6-1 win over American Alison Riske in 69 minutes, setting up a third round showdown against doubles partner Daria Kasatkina.

Rodionova continued her surprise run with an impressive 6-2 6-2 win over former world No.5 Sara Errani. The 34-year-old, who focuses primarily on doubles, has come through qualifying this week and only needed 61 minutes to beat her Italian opponent today. The result is projected to improve Rodionova’s ranking by over 300 spots, propelling her back into the world’s top 350. She next faces either German Annika Beck or fifth-seeded Dane Caroline Wozniacki.

Stosur meets Romanian 10th seed Irina-Camelia Begu in tomorrow’s third round. Should Gavrilova and Stosur both win their next matches, they would meet in the quarterfinals.
