Illness forces Kyrgios out of Indian Wells

Nick Kyrgios has withdrawn from the BNP Paribas Open on the morning of his quarterfinal against Roger Federer, citing food poisoning.

Nick Kyrgios is out of the BNP Paribas Open, withdrawing from the tournament due to illness.

It is suspected to be food poisoning.

The withdrawal means Roger Federer, Kyrgios’s quarterfinal opponent, moves through to the semifinals.

A disappointed Kyrgios tweeted the news on Friday morning.
