Nick Kyrgios will make his first competitive outing since Australia’s Davis Cup tie when he lines up at the Open 13 Provence in Marseille, France.

Last year, the indoor hardcourt event was the site of Kyrgios’s first ever ATP title.

In 2017 he returns as the No.3 seed and has been awarded a first-round bye. In the second round he’ll face either Malek Jaziri or Andrey Kuznetsov.

If the seedings hold, looming as a potential quarterfinal opponent is fellow young gun Alexander Zverev, the fifth seed.

Zverev recently won his second ATP title nearby in Montpellier.

Six of the eight seeds in Marseille are French; the tournament is headed by top two seeds Gael Monfils and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.

In Delray Beach, another Aussie, Bernard Tomic, is the sixth seed at the ATP 250 event on hard court.

Tomic opens against qualifier Steve Darcis and would next likely face Memphis finalist Nikoloz Basilashvili should the Georgian overcome German veteran Tommy Haas.

Second seed Ivo Karlovic is a projected quarterfinal opponent, while top seed Milos Raonic headlines the field. Juan Martin del Potro, seeded seventh, will make his first competitive appearance in 2017.

In Dubai, Sam Stosur opened her campaign with a first-round win over Chinese qualifier Kai-Lin Zhang.

The Aussie, seeded 12th, will next take on the winner of the match between Zhang Shuai and Ana Konjuh.
