Tennis Australia Competitions Manager and former Project Talent Leader Kim Kachel is set to take on the role of Tennis ACT Chief Executive Officer.

Mr Kachel was officially appointed by the Tennis ACT Board of Directors following a thorough recruitment process.

Tennis ACT President Dan Bisa is excited for the future of tennis in Canberra under Mr Kachel.

“Kim is a respected part of our tennis community with strong leadership and collaborative skills. We are excited to have him join us in this role,” Bisa said.

With personal ties to Canberra, Mr Kachel understands the landscape of tennis in the ACT.

“My tennis journey started in Canberra in Primary School. I played tennis all over the ACT but particularly competitions and tournaments at Hawker Tennis Centre. I fondly recall the weekend tournaments.

“I’m extremely excited about returning to where it all began for me and I look forward to helping provide a positive tennis experience for all kids in the ACT and help kick-start the next generation of tennis journeys.”

Kim will relocate, from Melbourne to Canberra in the New Year, to start in the role in February and will shadow outgoing CEO Ross Triffitt during next week’s East Hotel Canberra Challenger 2017.
